Digital Media Workshop (Of course, for your Pocket PC)

You can make your own video/movie files for your Pocket PC. The method we describe here can apply to any video sources such as your favorite cable/TV shows, VCR tapes, VCD/DVD movies, LaserDisc (LD), Camcorder, etc.

However, keep in mind that these steps are not the only ways to encode video file. The purpose of this workshop is to give our Pocket PC users a hands-on, do-it-yourself experience with minimum cost concern. Of course, there are dozens of professional software package in the digital video creation and editing market. Most of them cost more than $1000, never mention the learning curve to fully master those programs.

Pro-Choice (What you want to play with?)

The whole process is as simple as 1-2-3. However, currently there are three popular formats that are supported on the Pocket PC platform. Before you start, you have to decide which type of file format you want to get for your Pocket PC (see table below). We will teach you how to make MPEG-1 movies (file with .mpeg or .mpg extension) from the video sources, though you can make other format files (either converting from MPEG or direct encoding). Either case, you will be able to make your own video file for the targeted player after we walk you through the process.

Player Format Description
